Assessment

IOSH Managing Safely course exam & assessment.

The course is assessed in 2 parts.

• A 30 question multiple choice examination in which candidates must demonstrate what they have learnt.
• A Practical workplace risk assessment in which participants must show how to apply the knowledge they have gained throughout the course to real life situations.

Upon submission of the practical workplace assessment, it will automatically be sent to one of Videotile’s in house IOSH trainers for marking (this process will take approximately 7 working days).  Once marked the candidate will receive an automated email advising them that their results are available and in order to access their results/feedback candidates will need to log back into their course account.

If for any reason candidates are unsuccessful, detailed feedback will explain where questions were answered incorrectly and what improvements are required within the practical risk assessment.  Candidates are permitted to take the final (assessment) module 8, up to two additional times if required.  However it should also be noted that any re-submission will require a further 7 working days for marking.

On successful completion Videotile will automatically request the candidates certificate directly from IOSH, who will then email the candidate within approximately 10 working days detailing how they can obtain their certificate.  In that email they will be asked to register for an IOSH account or log into an existing one using the same email address used to register for the course.  Once logged in candidates will be able to download their ‘IOSH Managing Safely Certificate’ as a PDF.

The typical time frame from assessment submission to obtaining the certificate is between 17 and 21 working day’s however candidate should be aware that this could take slightly longer depending on IOSH processing times.
